One of the issues Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu will face whenever the latest conflagration ends was the state of perceived readiness of Israel’s army, when Netanyahu attempted to redesign their Judiciary in a massive uproar huge elements of those in uniform said they wouldn’t serve if he succeeded.
The vaunted military deterrence of Israel failed, obviously. To what degree Netanyahu’s crusade against its Judiciary and the subsequent army degradation invited the attack can never be known, but had Netanyahu been a prudent caretaker Prime Minister the issue never would have arisen in the first place.
One of the immensely dismaying elements of the current Israeli war is that the deterrence issue currently whips the US military, Republican stewardship malfeasance in two dimensions has seriously degraded US military readiness.
First is the high command confirmation stall in the Senate initiated by that Alabama fool Tuberville, the second the disastrous Republican Party implosion that’s currently stalled the entire House, supplemental military packages to Ukraine and Israel cannot be passed until those chattering clowns in the House can at least elect a Speaker.
With incredulous dismay two stark factors need explanation here, for they seem to be lost on our chattering, lying regressing Republican cousins. When elected to Federal office comes the responsibility of stewardship for the country, no matter the political elements currently in play one always deploys significant resources to make sure the country basely runs, shutdowns aren’t an option.
Around a month ago Dana Millbank of the Washington Post made the poignantly significant observation that we all deserve so much better than this, are you kidding me? All the Senate has to do is confirm high command posts, all the House has to do is elect a Speaker, these are childishly simple evolutions that in the past never arose, but our current Republican elected clowns just can’t do it.
Coupled with the rank failure is an amazing obnoxiousness and aggressive lying that almost defies belief, I’m watching the PBS Newshour last night and some puffy white Republican guy blamed the Democrats for the House stall, 180 of them voted for it, they’re just as responsible as us!
My god, you pitiful product of the enlightenment, Republicans have the majority, all you had to do was muster your people to stop it. A Republican initiated the vote to depose your Republican Speaker and then Republicans knifed him and the country, this immensely disgusting lie and deflection is so insulting to the little people, how could you think we’re so stupid? What happened to you, how could regression so smash the adult in you?
Enemies of the United States will be amused such a clown is inflicted on the American people, but they will note very closely because of lying charlatans like him the Americans don’t really care about their military command structure and really don’t care about their allies in Ukraine and Israel, if they did they wouldn’t allow failure.
After all the trillions invested in the US military just when we need the critical element of deterrence in the latest middle east war Republicans have stomped on it and horribly degraded it, the issue isn’t in the current technical operating functionality of the aircraft carriers, it’s that our enemies see our political leadership failing the military, how could the US really come through weakened like that if we attacked?
Don’t for a second make the immense mistake our enemies and other nation actors see the world as we do, their outlook and ambitions are very different and their perceived options can be totally unknown to us, we can blow off Republican military regression as just another antic but they easily may not.
Perhaps such an antic conclusion will gel in yet again if the current Israeli war eventually settles down with no relative escalation, but one can easily see a surprise Iranian-backed militia attack that leads to $30 million American Navy jets lying in flaming ruins with dazed pilots as hostages in Gaza, a new American war tumbling out of control.
Partly because our deterrence failed, ruined because Republican political leadership failed with their base stewardship, displayed immense American weakness and invited attack. We’ll never know how much they’re responsible for the deterrence loss, but if they’d just been adults the question never would have happened at all.
One could conclude current Republican political leadership view politics as just a game, they can regress and lie and fail and then golly gee handle it all by lying on teevee. It won’t work at all with America at war with dead pilots starting the new casualty lists, but the Republicans are simply oblivious in their starkly spiraling regression.
